The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are a professional Twenty20 cricket franchise based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India founded in 2008. They are one of the eight founding members of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They play their home games at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The franchise is one of the most successful teams in the IPL, having won the league three times (2010, 2011, and 2018). They finished as runners-up three times (2008, 2012, and 2019). With 10 appearances in the IPL playoffs (out of 11 seasons) as of 2020, they are also the team with the most appearances in the IPL playoffs. The team is captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former Indian ODI and T20 captain and one of the most successful captains in the history of international cricket. The team is coached by Stephen Fleming, the former New Zealand captain and coach.
